Kronos Quartet - The Kronos Quartet is a string quartet founded by violinist David Harrington in 1973. Since 1978, the quartet has been based in San Francisco, California.

Turtle Island String Quartet - The Turtle Island String Quartet is a jazz musical ensemble formed in 1985 and still active as of 2005, comprised of the normal pieces of a string quartet.
